A green recipe with North Indian flavour. Serves 4, Preparation time: 40 minutes, Cooking time:10 minutes.
  • 2 bunches cleaned and blanched palak leaves
  • 2 cups cooked basmati rice
  • 1 cup of finely chopped onions
  • ½ cup of finely chopped tomatoes
  • ½ cup of soya nuggets soaked in hot water and drained
  • 10-15 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tsp jeera seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil
How to make

Make puree out of blanched palak leaves in a blender. Heat oil in a vessel. Add jeera seeds to it. When it crackles add garlic and onion and sauté till there is no raw flavour of onion and garlic. Mix in tomatoes, soya nuggets, ginger and chilli paste. Saute for 5-7 minutes. Mix in palak puree and cook for another 5 minutes. Add cooked rice and mix well. Cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes.Serve hot with curds.
